Security
- Fixed multiple security vulnerabilities as described in Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory 2026-15.
- Fixed 3 CVEs in the JPEG-XL image decoder.
Bug Fixes
- Certificate reliability improvements: Fixed an issue that could cause “Unknown Issuer” certificate errors on certain sites, most commonly on Linux. Waterfox now refreshes intermediate certificate data as needed to keep HTTPS sites loading securely. No browsing data is collected but Waterfox may contact Mozilla’s certificate update endpoints to fetch missing intermediate certificates and revocation data.
Stability
- Printer driver isolation (Windows): Printer drivers are now loaded in a separate process, preventing buggy drivers from crashing Waterfox. This uses Windows’ application-level printer driver isolation to keep third-party driver issues from bringing down the browser.
Performance
- Small performance improvement in JPEG-XL image decoding (improved LUT loading and added RGB offset dithering).
Experimental
- Ogg Theora support can be re-enabled by setting media.theora.enabled to true in about:config.

Version: 115.4.1
It's a great browser. Firefox and Opera have turned into crashfests. I'm sure they'll all continue to have these issues from time to time, but as of July 2025, WaterFox is on top.

[Note that LittleSnitch caught Waterfox trying to access port 80 as well as some anonymous IPs. Deny. It also accesses several Google Content IPs as well, whatever that's for.]

Very erratic behaviour. This version installs extensions, but then auto-deletes them a few minutes later. After three times of installing, then re-installing, all my extensions from the Mozilla Store, they all vanished. Also, would it be possible to pin these extensions to the toolbar so they're always visible? Waterfox does not have this feature.

Generally like Waterfox but its own Home Page uses ≤ 100% processor for Isolated Web Content plus another 68% for the app (of 4 cores). Apple Home Page uses 0.0% for Isolated Web Content and just 0.4% for the app. What the heck?
If their own homepage is so badly coded that it uses nearly half my machine's processing power just to display it on a supported OS, I can't have greatconfidence in the app itself.
